My First Follower

I can't believe I have a follower!!  One follower!  Woot!  Woot!

Today, I got an Add-A-Gadget lesson from my follower, Connie of Quilting By The River.  Thank you thank you thank you!

This morning, "da hubby" (I stole that from Celia Rivenbark, a funny Erma Bombeck style columnist that used to be carried in our paper.) had to work, so I took my two youngest to their soccer games by myself. Fortunately, both teams games and practices are at the same complex this year.  Today, the games were at the same time, so I split my cheering between them.

I love going to my kids stuff.  I may not look like it, however.  There is usually some sort of chaos that occurs right before departing from the house.  Anything can go wrong from loss of equipment or clothing, to personal grooming (brushing hair/teeth, deodorant), disagreements, or one of the dogs escapes as we walk out the door.  Now, I tend to think of myself as a level headed person, but after so many years, so many children, so many chaotic occurances, I find myself feeling less and less compassionate concerning the lessons to be learned and just get it done so we can get out the door!!  Chaos is very likely to make me grumpy.  Usually this leads to spreading the grump around.  Take that chaos makers.  Consequently I don't look very cheery (because I'm not) at my children's activities.

I do realize that this season in my life will be behind me all too quickly, so behind my less than cheery appearance, I am loving it!  I could brag and brag and brag about my kids.  They are, after all, the most talented, best looking, best-er, best-est everything in the world!
